From Wikipedia.de

The German Officers' Association (D.O.B.), founded on 5th December 1918 in Berlin, represented the interests of German soldiers returning home from the First World War. During the National Socialist era, the D.O.B. was brought into line with other associations and dissolved in 1943.

In 1952, the Officers' Welfare Association (O.W.G.) was re-founded, which took over as legal successor to the D.O.B. and managed the remaining assets - in the form of real estate. The O.W.G., for its part, founded the German Officers' Association Foundation in 1994 and transferred its assets.
