War Veterans Day 1935

Commemorative postcard for the 6th German War Veterans Day in Kassel. The card was produced for the 5th commemoration of the event which was subsequently cancelled. This was no doubt in part (or fully) due to the Röhm putsch ('Night of the Long Knives' - 30th June - 2nd July 1934). The card has been overprinted in red to the foot with the dates for the 1935 event, '6.-8. Juli 1935', thus avoiding the need for a new commemoration postcard. Ref: 07.07.1935 (Fleurs & Papillons)
