Self-addressed postcard featuring special cancellation JB:Nuremberg62/596. Ref: 12.09.1938

NUREMBERG cancellations as featured in the Bochmann catalogues (1952)

JB:Nuremberg40/593 - 'Die Stadt der Reichsparteitage'. Ref: 31.07.1938

Notes on JB:Nuremberg40/593

Some of these Hd were only used in counter and office service and not as cancellations. Some are extremely rare and only appear on sections of parcel cards, postal orders, postcards and other forms.

JB:Nuremberg51/594 - 'Besucht die Kampftage/ der Fränkischen SA/ in Nürnberg/ am 24.u.25.7.1937. Ref: 24.07.1937
JB:Nuremberg56/595 - 'Geburtstag der Führers/ 20.April.1938/ Die Stadt der Reichsparteitag'. Ref: 20.04.1938

Notes on JB:Nuremberg56/595

There are two versions of this cancellation. One has '1938' over the 'S' of 'REICHSPARTEITAG', the other has '1938' over the 'H'.

JB:Nuremberg62/596 - 'Parteitag/ Großdeutschlands/ 9.1938/ Reichsparteitag der NSDAP'. Ref: 12.09.1938

Notes on JB:Nuremberg62/596

Variations listed include: Hatched roofs longs and thick; hatched roofs short and thin, flagpole tops in double lines; flagpole tops in single lines; left side of flagpole top missing, wide 'P' in 'Parteitag'; left side of flagpole top missing, narrow 'P' in 'Parteitag'. This most likely indicates that the cancellation was used a various sites with different dies being used. The date stamp attached to the slogan is unusual in that it bears no post office number. However, it was almost certainly used in Nuremberg 2. (See Rawlings & passmore p.58)
