JB:Danzig2/201 - 'Der Führer/ hat uns befreit/ 1.Sept.1939'. Ref: 01.09.1939

The stamp ink varies between violet and black. There were seven identical stamps in use. However, the one used at the Danzig-Langfuhr post office did not have a dot after the day number '1'.

After 1st September the day cancel should be added. This was usually not done. Pieces with daily postmarks from the period 2nd to 24th September are rare.
