The letter enclosed can be translated in the following way:

'Reverend To you once again, at least my request for news from you, I greet you, I am in good health as I hope you are. It is now 22 months that I receive nothing from home, nor from anyone else but I hope to soon as some of my friends have. We are well organised, we have our little Church and every Sunday we listen to the Mass and to ?? to help us be repatriated soon as I love the house of ?? and LA PATRIA not this sand of Africa, but that you also pray for our dear prisoners as I know that you pray for us. I am not more desperate because in these sad last months of 1943 which I bravely supported from the Germans on that Island I was always resigned to God and ?? who saved us from great danger. It is 18 months that we are with the Allies and we are very well but thoughts towards home are not missing because we need to turn them always to home. Best Wishes and Regards Salvatore Greetings to my family'
